Did you know...?
Did you know that with money people could face all the goals of the 2030 AGENDA.
Countries without money can't meet the goals of the 2030 AGENDA because of a poverty chain:
- If people do not have healthy food, they can't grow strong.
- If they are not strong, they can't work.
- If they can't work, they are not able to buy or rent somewhere to live, so they are homeless.
- If they are homeless, they are more likely to get ill because they can't afford to get medicines to get well again.
People need to be able to grow their own crops and keep their own animals. They need land and education to help to build their own business, get a job and look after themselves. They need to be able to have medical help when they need it to keep well and look after their families.
CAN THEY DO ALL THAT WITHOUT MONEY?
In pair, talk about the goals that poor countries can't meet becuase they do not have money. Explain the reasons.
In order to talk with accuracy, first, it is important for you to do the following interactive worksheet to review modal verbs.
When we are spectators of situations such as poverty, hunger, etc. we ask ourselves a lot of questions of ability, permission, prohibition, obligation and lack of obligation, and we would like to be there to give advise. For example, some questions could be:
- What could we do or what can we do to help people when money does not arrive everywhere ?
- What governments have to do or don't have to do in their countries to avoid or prevent poverty?
- Etc.
