Becoming a student representative
What is a student representative? What responsibilities do they have? What skills or qualities are important for this role?
Student representatives are a vital part of the school community. These students, also known as 'reps', volunteer to provide guidance, as well as raise concerns, make proposals, and support the students' interests and suggestions.
In this mission 3, you will choose your own school representative for the School Board. To do this, you will work on listening, writing, and speaking, and find out about the importance of becoming an active member of the school.
At the end of this mission you will have:
- learnt about the role of a class representative;
- learnt vocabulary related to skills and qualities;
- learnt how to use exclamatory sentences;
- given a campaign speech to become the new school representative.
To find out more about the importance of school 'reps', watch this video and answer the questions.
