The project is introduced to the students.
They will get a certificate of participation from the UNESCO, a changemaker card, a changemaker passport and stickers every time they do their tasks properly.
Individually, the students have to read 5 readings related to engineering. When they finish, they have to imagine what they will do to meet the goals (12, 13, 14, 15 and 17) of this project if they were engineers.
-The students will watch a video to understand better goal number 14, they will answer a few questions to check their comprehension.
- They will read an article about ‘Life Below Water’ which is not adapted using strategies such as skimming and scanning for relevant information.
- In pairs, they will play a game called Word Guessing in order to know more vocabulary belonging to the semantic field of fishing.
- They will make a fishing rod and wil explain their classmate how they made it (using the passive voice)
- They will simulate an ocean food web in order to solve the overfishing problem we have currently.
In the 1st TASK, they will work in groups to prepare an oral presentation to try to sell the best, cheap and sustainable fishing rods.
-The students will watch a video to understand better goal number 15, they will answer a few questions to check their comprehension.
- They will read an article about ‘Life on Land’ which is not adapted and will skim and scan the article for relevant information.
- They will watch two videos about worm farming and will debate about it. They will do the questions using the passive voice.
- They will play a game called A-Z Quiz Game about Endangered Species to improve their vocabulary related to the semantic field of endangered animals.
- They will debate about the possibility of animals and human beings coexisting peacefully.
In the 2nd TASK, in groups, they will design a digital poster about an endangered animal.
-The students will watch a video to understand better goal number 12, they will answer a few questions in order to check their comprehension.
- They will read an article about ‘Responsible Cosnumption and Production’ which is not adapted and will skim and scan the article for relevant information.
- In groups, they will debate about things we daily use or we wear which are made from animals
- The students will learn what is to be an ecofriendly consumer and they will check if they are ecofriendly consumers.
In the 3rd TASK, in groups, they will do an ecofriendly consumer quiz for their friends and family members and will analyse the answers.
-The students will watch a video to understand better goal number 13, they will answer a few questions to check their comprehension.
- They will read an article about ‘Climate’ which is not adapted and will skim and scan the article for relevant information.
- They play a game in order to know what kind of climate changemaker they are.
- They will watch a video about cognates and false friends and will practice their pronunciation.
In the 4th and last TASK, they class will be a sewing workshop. Individually they will create an outfit with recycled items and will describe its process of creation.
- The students will watch a video to understand better goal number 17, they will answer a few questions to check their comprehension.
- They will read an article about ‘Partnership’ which is not adapted and will skim and scan the article for relevant information.
- The students will play a game to check their knowledge about other countries. In their mission, they have to choose their destination following the given order and answering questions to get a secret number. When they have all the numbers they will be able to open a safe box.
They will do the Final Challenge. As a class group, they will organise a Fashion Show. At the end of the show, they will sing and dance the song ‘Jerusalema’.
