Understanding Goal 17

Little by little you are discovering  the advantage of working in collaboration with your classmates although at the begining was hard for you.

a) Watch the following video in oder to understand the importance of  Goal 17.

b) Answer  the following questions:

  • What kind of people do we need?
  • What does partnership between nations give us?
  • What does partnership require?
  • What does Ghana need?
  • What is partnership making today?

c) Read the following article which belongs to the United Nations and it is not  adapted. Skim it and  scan it.

You will skim the reading  to grasp the main idea and you will scan it to get the specific  information that call your attention.

d) Complete:

What do you know about other countries?

The world is huge but we all need to work in the same direction in order to meet the 17 goals of the 2030 Agenda.

Human beings are threat number one of themselves also. However,  peaceful coexistence  for all beings must be a reality!

Are you ready to do different missions and each one in places all over the world.? Every time you answer correctly all the questions of each place, you will get a secret  number. You need all of them to open a safe box. Be the first!

FINAL CHALLENGE: Fashion Show. Let's sing and dance!

a) Organise a Fashion Show with the recycled outfit you have created with the help of your teacher. Organise it in a way that everybody had to present at least the outfit of one model.

Don't forget that the rubric to fashion show will help you know how to do a great job (download in editable odt format or pdf).

b) When the Fashion Show finishes, dance and sing as a class group the song 'Jerusalema'.

As a class group:

Memorise the lyrics in English and work together to do a great choreography when the Fashion Shown finishes.

Partnership is essential to achieve this goals!

I dare you to form a team of eight classmates and to do missions in your free time in order to meet the 2030 Agenda . You will get a passport and you will have to fill it up indicating your names.

Everytime you do a mission you have to present your teacher a document with the the following information:

  1. Name of your mission:
  2. Goal or goals met:
  3. If adults help you, indicate who:
  4. Description of your mission:
  5. Result:
  6. Impact:

The teacher will tick or stamp your passport everytime you carry a mission on. If you are able to meet all the Goals you will get a changemaker card

Learning Diary

Now, write in your learning diary your reflections.

Here you have also some questions to answer:

  • What did I learn?
  • What was new to me?
  • Was there something that changed my views and why?
  • What didn't I understand?  Why?
  • What was more difficult? Why?
  • What  have I learnt that can have some relevance for me? Can I identify it?
  • How am I going to apply this knowledge to my life?
  • Would I like to continue learning English by doing projects?
  • What TASKS did  I like more?
  • Do I think that I have improved my English? What specific competences have I developed with this project?
  • What key competences have I developed with this project?
  • What relevant things have I learnt from other subjects?
  • Am I going to change my habits in order to meet the goals of the 2030 Agenda?
